Showing in galleries and museums both nationally and internationally Burkhardt’s work has been placed within the top two hundred private, corporate and museum collections worldwide.  A few of the places his work has shown are the Miller Block Gallery (Boston), Judi Rotenberg Gallery (Boston), Bernice Steinbaum Gallery (Miami), Freight and Volume (New York), Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts (New York), Volume Gallery (New York), Gallery Diet (Miami), The Museum of Fine Arts (Boston) as well as a solo show at Wyoming Art Museum.  Recent publications include The Boston Globe, Art Matters, Art Papers, Boston magazine, Orion magazine, and the New York Times.  In 2010, a book was published on his work titled “Ecological Mimesis” which successfully documented over a decade of his work. 

 

As a designer with a strong interest in the accessory and fashion industry Brian was named the winner of Lifetime's Project Accessory (Season One) and has since designed a capsule collection for Kenneth Cole and has shown during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim.  His designs have been featured in periodicals such as Elle, InStyle and Nylon magazines.  He has won two gold addy awards for his photography, creative and art direction as well working as a freelance creative for such companies as 7-up, Brides magazine, Ralph Lauren and Teen Vogue.
